Peter Eigen: How to expose the corrupt

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy Zagreb invites you to another “TED Talks” event on February 23 at 6 pm in the American Corner of Bogdan Ogrizovic Library, Preradoviceva 5.

“TED Talks” discussions are hosted at the American Corner once a month. Attendance is open to the public and you may forward this invitation to anyone who may be interested.

Peter Eigen: How to expose the corrupt

This month’s video features Peter Eigen, former director of the World Bank in Nairobi and founder of Transparency International, who claims it’s the poor governance – even in Western countries with strong governments – that leads to corruption. He calls on the civil society to rise to the occasion and finds an escape route by developing the concept of collective action. Corruption is currently the “buzz word” in Croatia so join our moderator Ms. Nevena Crljenko from the Academy for Political Development and Mr. Zorislav Antun Petrovic from Transparency International Hrvatska in finding out whether Croatian civil society is capable to rise to the occasion.

The video is in English while the following discussion will be held in Croatian.
